is there a route planned? I'm not the one finalising the ride but at this stage it looks like up through the Back of Rangiwahia to Mangaweka and then out Turakina way, with a feed stop. Hopefully this will be an introductory ride to get some of the surrounding riders together. You don't have to be a Feilding person, it's a base only. We will be allowing for all rider levels and using group rides tricks that we've picked up. (Thanks Ashhurst and CDMTC) The plan is to develop more local rides over the next few months with a few runs of 400 to 800km. Maybe a monthly big ride. Note: This is an informal club but may become more structured later on.

Will probably go back to "Murrays" garden bar afterwards for a chat and drink. Rear entrance and car park on Eyre Street (By Vet Clinic) This is a social ride to get to know other riders. Don't expect a fast pace. All Sensible Manawatu Riders are welcome to join us for the ride. Look forward to seeing you there. Then monthly social time ----- future rides suggestions welcome. -------------------- Life is a Work in ProgressMy Favourite Bikes and Reviews Katana GSX750F, V Rod, VMax, Buell and a couple of others. |

Well the weather is looking mint
Feilding riders will be having social meetings The next thing to do as a group is to look at what sort of rides people want to do and build up a local contacts list or rides database. Feilding Riders Club comes up quite well on a google search for this site, so it's a good place to start. A suggestion has been made that Sunday rides are held at different times each month. e.g. alternating 2nd and 3rd Sundays. Another option would be to schedule rides of varying lengths 3 weekly with different riders leading each ride. Obviously in summer we will be able to recommence evening rides. If you have any thoughts or suggestions please let us know. Brent will be leading the ride tomorrow. I look forward to seeing you there. -------------------- Life is a Work in ProgressMy Favourite Bikes and Reviews Katana GSX750F, V Rod, VMax, Buell and a couple of others. |

There was a good turnout for the first ride today. Thank you to everyone who came and supported this inaugural event.
It was good to see some new faces and touch base with some old It was nice to see some parts of the Manawatu at a leisurely pace. More details later - please post your comments. Some pics available On My Website These are reduced images which you should be able to download or copy and paste. -------------------- Life is a Work in ProgressMy Favourite Bikes and Reviews Katana GSX750F, V Rod, VMax, Buell and a couple of others. |

Feilding - Rangiwahia - Turakina - Stanway - Feilding Loop Ride Report
15 motorcyclists turned up at the Feilding Railway Station for the 10:00am meet (including two pillions). 3 of the riders (Radar and co) were from outside the region, coming through from Wairarapa, to join us on the ride and then flick across to Te Manawa. Four riders from Rongotea joined us and we caught up with a new Kimbolton Biker on a mighty 919 Monster. A leisurely pace was maintained up to Rangiwahia where the skies and scenery were magnificent with Mt. Ruapehu almost within touching distance. it was good to be able to appreciate the surroundings instead of just blasting past. At Rangiwahia we regrouped where I learnt about about the inflexibility of metal pin and 2 finger control. No time for the rust to set in there. The road out to Mangaweka was in excellent condition, so would be worth another look before the damp weather sets in. Over the slippery Mangaweka bridge and a quick run down towards Hunterville was in order. Our two new riders did very well with nice lines through the twisties and handled SH1 traffic nicely. We had arranged a quick stop at Vinegar Turnoff where a few of the group were heading back to Palmy but this was missed by a few riders who went past the intersection, not noticing everyone else waving madly at them. At Hunterville we had a relaxing sip, bite and refuel (Not at Challenge which had no gas). After me nearly dropping the Kat Thanks again to everyone who turned up on the day. I hope you all enjoyed the day and look forward to getting together with you for some future rides. Some shorter and some longer A couple of weeks ago the idea of this ride was proposed as a way of getting to meet more of the Manawatu riders around the Feilding Region. Everyone knows someone who rides a motorcycle. A small amount of promotion was done but at relatively short notice we were unsure what the result would be. At our next social meet (Wednesday 25th at Murray's) and over the next few weeks we will be building on this and setting up scheduled short and long rides (not too long Bandit). p.s the vibrating little monster wants wheelie lessons, mmmnn -------------------- Life is a Work in ProgressMy Favourite Bikes and Reviews Katana GSX750F, V Rod, VMax, Buell and a couple of others. |
