Hey all, after getting disillusioned with another forum (that is probably known to most) I found a link to this site. Maybe, just maybe, this site will become what the aforementioned site was, and that was a great place to talk useful stuff (and talk shit) without having certain elements trying to ruin it for everyone else.
Anyways, about me. I am Bren (thats short fro Brendan). I reside in Christchurch for the time being, and am moving up to Kapiti real soon (CLICK, some may know who I am now based on that comment, and comments I have pasted in the other site...oh I have tried to use a non offensive user name on here...). My wife is already there.
More about me, by now you have figured out that I am married. Jane, my better half is a wonderful person, who brings out the beast in me. She is great with kids (including miner, her stepkids), and works as a librarian. She is not as you would expect though, has a real wild streak in her. I am in between jobs as we are moving, but my skills are in warehousing and stores, and I will try to continue with that up north. (hint to any prospective employers in Kapiti)
Motorcycle history- I have been riding on and off since 1986 (sheesh, i am gettin old)...mostly in the 250 class as I tend to procrastinate and ...um...still aint got a full license...Not to say I aint ridden bigger. I had a katana years ago which went like a burnt cat...plus an XS400, and a few other bits and bobs...(CX400...ugh) Currently I have a GPX250 which is in the process of getting revinned, and then once I finish procrastinating I will look at an earlier BMW, or a Guzzi, or something else classic...
Nuff said from me...I have rambled on way too much...
Seya all later on the road sometime...

Welcome to the site
Sounds like you know a thing or two about bikes

I'm sure you will come in handy here. I'ld love to get into restoring/fixing up older bikes, but i wouldnt know where to start.
We will have to organise a ride once you move up to Kapiti

Or at least it could be a good spot to stop in for a BBQ, not too far from Palmerston North.
Enjoy your stay

Kiwikat is back into Riding after a 29 year break. I ride a Suzuki Katana GSX750F and am slowly getting confidence and riding skills back up to speed. I thought I'd found a great riding community on KB but am a bit peed of at the direction it's taking. Family 1st, Work 2nd, riding 3rd.

Anyhow, moving on to bigger and better things. Hopefully the good manawatu riders will be along shortly.

of course, anyone from the south island is automatically welcome. We got our local token interpreteer, Yod. He comes from down there and can translate for us.

Sites starting to look good. Thanks for the heads up about the local shops BanditR. Will see how it goes tomorrow with the assessor. The amount I pay in premiums though I should be sweet. How much do you think it'll devalue my bike if i go green.

learn how to spell lad.
"make bike look awesome and the envy of every rider" is not spelt d-e-v-a-l-u-e. If you dont watch your spelling someone might get the wrong idea.

Being an ex manawatuite I came to this site to get away from all the Manawtu crap you guys talk (tongue in cheek). Welcome to you all one and all. You have certainly been entertaining to say the least and I think its great how you have grown in numbers.

shows your not very smart.........................
Oops feel about 5 phone calls, few tellings off ..... bad bad bad..
Yes the manawatu crowd has grown in leaps and bounds (probably cause of all the fantastic roads we have round here)
It all turned to custard when a certain "manawatu rider" who happens to not even live in the manawatu and attends fuck all rides decided to start bossing everyone around. Happened to be a moderator and all the mods jumped in when she got told to fuck off and said we were picking on her because she is a mod. Meh.

More like a job where you can beat up people and not get the sack, then breweries shower you litterally with their product, which is fine except for guys in Waikato or Otago orCanterbury.
Well they play polo on horseback, soccer on elephants, why not rugby on bikes, the harleys are props, ktm locks, scooters halfbacks and sprots bikes backs.Reserves are concours, goldwings.
I like rugby when the AB's lose, especially watching Henry squirm under scrutiny of news people, smug bastard when winning, arsewipe when losing.
