I have a suggestion what you can do with a banana. You want to hear it?

Have to see what time I finish doing what I am doing tomorrow night. I might make it yet. Maybe.

The fat Connie did 368km on it's last tank (21L to fill her up). This was the day of the ticket: Taupo to Palmy via Napier.

5.4litres per 100km
sarge
QUOTE (Horse @ 8 Oct 2008, 10:55 PM) *
after running the tank almost dry tonight it took 20.5l to fill back up. I got 313km out of the tank (and not quite at my best fuel economy) and did 43km after the low fuel warning light came on.

6.5 litres per 100km
sarge
216km and 14.9 litres of the good stuff.

6.9litres per 100 km.
yod
one stretch today 170km, 12.4litres

13.7km/litre

7.3 litres per 100 km

Are you sure there's enough width in your spreadsheet?
Horse
Right then Mr Cowboyz, any chance you can post up a link to your sexy google map of the planned route?

BTW on Friday night we discussed exchanging cell numbers - mine's 021 438 636. Don't ring me and order a truck load of concrete![1]

[1] My old cellphone number used to be the same as the first 6 digits of one of the Wellington concrete suppliers. So muppet contractors in Wgtn would go to ring for concrete on their cellphone, and forget to add the (04) for Welly, and get my cellphone instead. Grrrrrr. One of them even tried to argue with me when I said I didn't have any farking concrete for him!
cowboyz
no google map. I use mapsource for mapping. I can create a google earth file for you if you want?
cowboyz
oh yeah, can I have some concrete

I won't be going to Lake Ferry this weekend so i'll be doing the 3 points......at this stage...
Enjoy yaselfs.
I will be at this point doing the friday night ride so the new rubber gets scrubbed up a bit but only if it's a decent day.
Otherwise i'll pick a day during the weekend to do a small loop somewhere, maybe through to the Ormondville pub then park the bike until friday.

Note: I reserve the right to flick back and forth on this decision an unlimited amount of times. rolleyes.gif biggrin.gif

I would'nt be to sure on my being an amateur coz i've just change my mind again, will do the Lake Ferry ride.
But the following week i'm only riding to Gisborne then i'm heading back to Napier.

Haha...watch this space...I bet you change it again then biggrin.gif

Nah, fed up with worrying if i've got the funds to do the four points so I had a re-think on it.

This is roughly the idea.
First fine day of this weekend leave Ashhurst 9am sharp, eastside down through Alfredton, Gladstone etc.. onto Lake Ferry.
It's detailed in the first post in this thread but it's been jigged around since then I think, but it's the basic idea of it.

Carefully hidden ( rofl.gif ) on page 1:

QUOTE
DAY 1. 19 Oct 08 439km

Leave Ashhurst at 9am
Head down east side of the ranges taking in alfredton, gladstone and general fun roads that are out that way.
Head down to Lake Ferry for the card.
Back to Featherston for a first fuel stop at 233km.
Head over rimutakas onto moonshine road for a bit of fun and head into Titahi Bay where my sister is going to trade off looking cool by association (with a heap of sportsbikes) for lunch.

After lunch will be a run over paekakariki hill and a pootle back to Ashhurst.

Although there is a chance the boys will go Saturday if the weather's looking bad for Sunday.

I can relate to that...with meanie saying we should be putting about $2000 away for the Southern Cross next year, I am thinking of a savings plan.....but then Christmas is around the corner (5 paydays) unsure.gif

You are welcome to come on the lake ferry section of the ride but bear in mind all the four points rides are about riding non-stop. This is not a 'usual' what has become known as a manawatu ride. In the 450km there will be 2 stops. 1 for fuel and 1 for the ticket.

I'm sure you could cut down the number of stops a bit more somehow...
cowboyz
not that I can work out. we have to stop for the ticket.. unless they hand it out as we do a driveby. and my bike wont do the 450k on 1 tank

who is going to be brave enough to pick the weather for this weekend?

forcast thunderstorms today and it was mint. the rain is all over the radar and cant see any of it.

On the upside. There is a FUCKING HUGE HIGH sitting right off Oz right now which should hit us about labour weekend!

Yeah, the forecasts have been hopeless all week. Personally I'm thinking positive - it cannot possibly be as bad as the weather on the GC last year - laws of nature an all...
cowboyz
best of luck with that positive thinking in all. GC this weekend is it?

I try and avoid "V" & coffee etc. Have got a couple of bottles of powerade and some munchies to stash in the bags and that should do me.
