I am keen for a ride tomorrow night
See whoever at Mobil at 6pm

I wont be along tonight sorry, i'm working. Make sure you all ride safe! victory.gif

A really nice ride tonight. 18 bikes. A good route that I must ride again.

Shot through the gorge, left then followed the ranges (Topgrass Road) up to Oringi. cut across SH2 and came out half way between Woodville and Managatainoka. Down to Pahiatua to Black Stump then home over the Pahiatua Track.

2 corners with bad metal on the track otherwise roads were good. The Kats handling better now. A little bit at a time.

Was hoping to catch up with others at Ashhurst cafe but numbers preferred Black Stump / Central Park at Pahiatua.

Shame I missed it, I like Topgrass Rd, but I'm going to have to get used to being bikeless for a while yet. Found a replacement, though its going to take about 22days plus to get here...

22 days is a looooong time if you're waiting for a Triumph. Hope it arrives right on schedule!

I've never ridden that road before. Nice. I might follow the ranges all the way up for a summer run.
Can't wait to see the new bike. Saw some nice riding gear on trademe last night. Touch base with re some graphics for the Kat over the break.

Sounds good. No official ride happening as far as I know, maybe the opportunity to do something a bit different. e.g. ride, BBQ / swim. Transport of BBQ / goodies easy to arrange. Or daytime, subject to work.

1.5 hrs is probably about right. depends on the stops and who shows up. Who knows what can happen after. play it by ear.

I have managed to move from my lounge chair to the couch today...

There, there.

I won't be making the 5:40 6:00pm, but if no one there text me or call in. I'm thinking of doing a later ride (cooler / darker) out Halcombe / Vinegar hill way. (I will need to watch out for all the pinkies heading home though)

A nice little pootle this afternoon. Stinking hot. A good turnout too. Good to see an experienced rider having a bit of fun as a pillion. The fingernail grooves on the Triumphs grab bar might be hard to get out though.

Alrighty, i'll keep that in mind smile.gif

Well no one turned up at the Feilding spot, and it was just me waiting at Mobil in Ashurst blush2.gif unsure.gif

So off i went and decided to play on Vinegar Hill for a bit, had a good blat, even had a play with a car who was fairly quick, that was good fun.
Once i finished that i headed off to Kiwikats house and said hello, then he jumped on his mighty steed and off we went in search of some new roads. Turned out to be an excellent ride and found some cool roads which I've never been on before.

Cheers for the ride Kiwikat, was good fun dance4.gif

Dunno if I've ever seen that many bikes parked up there before...
cowboyz
I would have come for another adventure but was busy back on the apiti loop in a 4WD with 86 and dogs. Still damn hot!

Maybe we should do a proper night ride like Kiwikat was talking about some time. Maybe head off somewhere for tea (say an hour or two away) and then have a nice potter back in the darkness...

Nice to see you. Mighty Steed - Yeah man. Explored some awesome riding roads with neat views.Onepuhi / Porewa Road, Leedstown Road, Mt. Curl Road (Hunterville to Marton) which turned into shingle uphill into the sun with quite a bit of wind so we turned around and came back through Tokorangi and Makino Road. I must try Mt Curl Road from Marton end one day soon. The eyes take a bit of adjusting to the long dusk. victory.gif

I enjoyed it although back tyre very slippery today and flexing. Will check out the tyre pressure tomorrow. Definitely a change needed soon. That little Honda goes faster with it's pants down.

I trust that you got the Triumph safely home and reshod.

EMFORAL... you really REALLY need to get your own sports bike to thrash. Your poor girlfriend having to either ride YOUR hyosung while you blast off on HER cbr or worse, sitting out a ride... not good!

Got Mellissa's CBR400RR up and running finally today. Repainted the spare TYGA front fender to replace what was left of hers and fitted up my old 767 fairing set to it to replace the half ton orange fibreglass crap she had on it. A few rolls of duct tapeand the new old farings look fine... mostly.

Bike does awesome nose picks/stoppies and goes bloody well apart from the 190 speed cut! Should be a good replacement for the Ninja until she finds a new 2000 CBR600F4

Yes Matt does need a new toy BEFORE HE BREAKS IT. Great to hear you guys are mobile again for now. Now to find some dry roads again. Countdown to Trumpy's arrival must be moving along nicely.

I'm enjoying the wet roads... blush2.gif

I also wont be riding this friday, i'll be working.
But this trackday seems like a good thing to check out, I'll probally head down and have a look around
cowboyz
the best view is from on the seat of a motorcycle going round the track.

Got new brake pads today. Got my tyres sorted. Waiting on insurance and its all good.
JadedBlade
Its the only time you'll ever get the chance to hit a track for less than $100 so there really aren't many logical reasons NOT to try a lap or 20. Especially given how fast you seem to like riding on the road. I'd have thought this would have been priority on your list of things to do.

Hell even if you only got to ride your Hyosung round, its still $40 well spent!

Last year I had the kids but still managed to sneak down and get in the first session on the JBlade. Year before I did it on the old KR1 2Smoker. This year I'm without a bike that I own the rights to be dropping on a track so I'll be waiting for the april session.
EMFORAL
Its VERY VERY tempting... How tough is scrutineering? The rear tyre on the cbr is getting very worn, but im sure i would spend a fair bit of the track on the sides of the tyres

It's NOT scrutineering to race standard. Basically looking at safety. It's more skill development / lines etc rather than racing. Strat with the slow group (with cowboyz) and the other scooter riders, the progress up. You could easily waste a tyre on the track anyway. Slicks can be an advantage. Get someone to look at it first. They won't take your money then say nah, you can't do it. You also don't have to do every run.
EMFORAL
Alright then, well i might just give this a go!!! good.gif

if your bike fails scruitineering then it really shouldnt be on the road. It is not as scary as it sounds.

Oh, and I wont be running with the slow group so if your nervous about the track, dont line up behind me.
It pays to start out in the slow group and get a feel for the track. if you find you are being held up then drop back half a lap and then play catchup and after the session talk to the officials about going up a group. It is a fun day out.
EMFORAL
Sounds like fun biggrin.gif
