Yeah, I've been so busy with everything else I suddenly just realised "it's friday!". Duh.
I think Bonez posted that he had a cunning plan for a route.

Not sure whether to ride tonight. Bike looks to be sold and will be off to the States shortly and I'd die if I binned it before then!
And don't say ride responsibly... ask Cowboyz... I don't know how to on account of ten too many knocks to the head MotoXing. As the sticker on the swingarm says: Stupid Hurts
As I left that "door" wide open, I'll get in first and say "Shut it Dani/Lance/Jonno!" I just KNOW your dying to comment now.

Well, if there is a ride tonight, I won't be there. Have to go work some more. What a fricken day, it's amazing I haven't killed anybody. That'll teach me to have a good day yesterday doing almost nothing but riding.

weatehr looked pretty good this evening

18 Oct 2008, 08:15 AM
How was the peanut

The report, OK. Good turnout, about 17 bikes I think. Some of the regulars MIA which meant a slight absence of green apart from Sly's electrically challenged Honda. Followed Sarge through the gorge, through Woodville, around to the north west of WDV, then to that really good road through to just north of Mangatinoka. Only thing with that particular back road is that the engineers must have used up their camber budgets, as there aren't any. Some brilliantly tight corners but a bit of metal left behind to get around em

Up to the Black Stump for a quickie, then back to WDV where Sly had to kick his rectifier back into life. Ended up at Meanies so Sarah could stick needles into him.

Talked shit, went home, good night

After leaving Ashurst, I got a Km home before the lights went out again! Ended up having to follow mellissa in her rescue car home with no lights. She took off and as I had no lights she had to guess if I was behind or not. As I had to bump start the Jaded one he got a way ahead and I had to ride blind in th dark aiming for her tail lights about a k down the road. Was kind of fun.
Got the the straights to Feilding after the rail lines past Bunnythorpe when it started to cut out. Battery was ruinning low. Couple of big spectatular back fires, but I got to feilding by slowly lowering the revs to ease the load on the sparkplugs.
She finally cut out 500m from home. Woohoo!.
Pulled it apart and wheen through a detailed search with the multimeter and switched parts out between the mine and the spare CBR. Turns out the generator has cooked a few windings.
Funny thing is, thats was Sarah said would be the problem. Pyschic vet?

Alternator. This is what generally happens with older bikes especailly ones that have vibration. A short develops in the wiring then windings overheat short more and die. You should be able to get it rewound locally at Smith Pilling at a resonable cost or even do it yourself then heat up and melt araldite into the winds to stop them doing the same thing.

Was a good ride tonight.
Everything was fine apart from the small patch of rain. But didn't bother me too much.
Was nice to meet a few more people. And good to hear the sound of the VTR1000's and SV1000's
Hope everyone else had a good ride.
I'm working next friday so i'll be skipping a week.

Hope most got home reasonably dry. I see Sarge got a soaking. Rode to Cafe Cuba and had a coffee with Al. Hit a bit of rain but I had the suit on and Al said his new leather held out well so all good.
At least the ride itself was comparatively dry

Absolute, total, bummer. All those K's and that happens between home and work. I nearly got wiped out by a cager thursday AM. Just pulled straight out. Must be Palmy Drivers. Watch the bruises, and the clicky bits. A med check might not be a silly idea on ACC particularly incase something develops later. Take care.
Tonights ride led by Sarge ended up going through Gorge, Ballance, Mangamaire and the back road to Pahiatua. A nice Stop off at the Black stump then Home. Followed a 100k Policeman al the way to Woodville then a nice quiet run home. Some pretty big wind gusts. A few tried out some different bikes at Pahiatua.
Bad luck Cowboz. You'll have to stop trying to jump the bike over the house. Hope the body comes right soon. Who / what did you land on?
Sorry didn't end up going through Vinegar Hill TA. A few new riders tonight. All the 4 points boys too knackered, doing silly things I think.
