Good stuff, great to see this ride up and runing again.
Quick bit of history for anyone who may be interested.
This ride was dreamed up by Dogsnbikes and myself and has been a huge success.

Manawatu Thursday/Friday night easy rides.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've just had to give Dog's his Triumph back but we thought it would be a great idea to get people out for a cruisy easy short ride on a Thursday or Friday night and end up at a cafe for coffee and a chat
So, ideas and sugestions welcome, the basic idea being a short, no pressure ride around some of the great back roads round here.
All experience levels catered for, it would be great to see some of the newer riders out there and a great chance to pick up tips and hints from the more experienced.
Rides would probably be no more than an hour or so and be home before dark.
So get posting with your ideas guys, now's the time for those warm balmy evenings which are so good on the bikes

I think the title is mysterious "Thursday/Friday Night Ride". A bit hard to know which it will be.
I probably won't make it tonight as the wife has to work late which leaves me with the kids. Keep it right side up.

Hi guys, these rides are Friday night rides, the Thursday bit came about in the early days while they were shaking in so disregard Thursdays, OK

I'd suggest the Apiti loop, but we may run out of daylight. Mystery ride then lol.

Apiti loop would be ok, we could stop at kimbolten for a cuppa, its all straight road home from there, wont matter if its a little dark

I agree a pleasant ride to Apiti. A really easy ride once you hit Kimbolton. Also one of the Feilding venues might suit. Scrub that.
A reminder to Feilding Riders that we will be meeting at the Railway station @ 5:40pm.
apiti to kimbolton is sweet
kimbolton to feilding is sleep inducing....
probably a bit far to go round pemberton and vinegar hill....maybe later in the year

We went to drovers the other night for dinner, and it seemed like a decent place to sit down and have a drink, chat etc???

Bummer, I was'nt going to ride tonight either, but considering the day (if it does'nt turn to shit between now and 6pm) and the fact i've just finished a couple of mods to the Fazzer I don't think i'll be able to resist... damn I knew I could'nt say something and just stick to it..

Bugger it is such a lovely day and the ride tonight will be a goody
Unfortunately my lovely daughter

is swim training tonight so I am on drop off/pickup duty

...in saying that...she is a young `woman` and does change her mind quite abit...so if I get home and she does not want to train tonight...I might just say oh well, ok then, if you really don't want to it will be alright (she will be gobsmacked until she clicks I want to ride my bike

)
Sooo.....I could be there but also because she is a young `woman' ...she can be quite vindictive

...don't know where she gets it from.....and might want to train
because I want to ride my bike

Nah, boys aren't. My three girls cause less grief. I agree with comments about finalising a route for tonight. A shorter ride with a chat seems to suit some riders (includes newer riders) but there are several that want to do a major ride. Sorted is good.
Murray's Irish pub (refurbished) in Feilding have got a covered Garden Bar, with back entrance of Eyre St. (by Vets) for parking bikes.

Hey all.
Not going to make it tonight Cowboyz, have the kids, so the bikes are all tuckd up and Mellissa has confiscated the keys. We won't be at the next few actually. Next weekend we are going to ride to the Mount and back. If we leave on Saturday morning I may make it for friday, given the JadedBlade has laughable headlights, my connection to th force is weak, I don't own NVG and Mellissa is night blind. Weekend after that is the kids again.
Every second weekend from this one forward, I will be out for fridays BUT should be fine for thrusdays if you end up riding then?
Will try to meet up with those from Feilding for the trip in BUT I usually go the Cheltenham route (with a bit of enthusiasm and throttle) so may just meet you there at Mobil Ashurst.

Friday Night Ride Review 10 October 08
An awesome ride. fantastic atmosphere. You guys blew me away, both literally and Metaphorically. Keep the system running.
26 Bikes at my count, terrific work at corners etc. Nice route through the windys with a blat down the straight towards the end.
I enjoyed being able to ride at a comfortable pace on an unfamiliar road.
Great social time At Murray's.
An A+ result Meanie. Thanks
