So it seems the MR crew don't mind McRides biggrin.gif good as !!!!

I'm thinking of some evangelism .. it is the hardest bit of being a website owner ... getting the name "out there"

I've had a few thoughts bounce round in my head, but haven't actually tried anything
I've got a biz card design kicking around, and thought placing a biz card on the dash of parked bikes might be fun, and not too obtrusive.

Of course the best possible evangelism is word of mouth .. .so does McRides stack up as a long term solution?

Technically I can answer the following:
The domain name has been paid for until 2016 ( and I will renew )
The software can handle lots of members ( I also run http://mandrivausers.org 19015 registered members )
The server is hosted at oregon state university in America, but if this ever falls through I also have hosting at Hamilton City Council, Telsra Clear Hamilton, and Maxnet north shore Auckland

I have a static license for the software which expires at the end of the year, if I wish to continue upgrading the software ( Which I probably will ) then it costs me $30 USD per year ( I think .. or maybe six months .. can't remember)

So who's up to be a website evangelist ? smile.gif ...
GC is coming up .. there will be lots of bikes there? Banditrider? blush2.gif

Suggestions - shoot me. - If every signature on other postings said check this site out, in one form or another that's going to increase the views enormously.
Personal signatures are a personal statement by choice. (Stick vids and pics in all your posts.)

I've had to clean up my website because of increased traffic thanks to links on KB and more so this site.

I reckon you can easily double membership again over next month.

Can i make a suggestion?
In the uk i ran www.kr-1s.net a site devoted to the little
kawasaki kr1 and kr-1s 2 stroke bikes. (its now www.kr-1s.co.uk if there are any kr lovers out there)
I had some fairing stickers made up and sent them out to members for
a minmial fee which covered my expenses and no more.
They were pretty cool little things and were designed to go inside the fairing screen
(The same place you see racers have their names.)
It might be more expensive to produce than biz cards but they look waaaay cooler
and go where ever the bike goes so its a perminent travelling ad for the site.
Personally i'd give a buck or two for one and i'd even pick it up to save your postage costs biggrin.gif

I also had some KR-1s coffe mugs made up from my own design and sold them to members.

LOLZ!

TA, something like this might be an idea: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=79886

I was thinking about getting a couple until recent events cooled my enthusiasm somewhat. smile.gif The idea is that they'll stick without actually using adhesive. I think this is what they were handing out at the rescue chopper/anti cheesecutter ride here in June - not KB logos, but about the cheesecutter campaign. I stuck one on a pannier on my Hyosung, but it wasn't still there at the end of the ride - probably because it was so wet on the day, and I think they need a nice flat surface. But it looks like they're fairly cheap to produce.

BTW, I'm not a huge fan of the current McRides logo - I think it's a bit too similar to the KB one, conceptually. But that's just me - if you love it, don't be afraid to tell me I'm full of crap! smile.gif

An easy option is number plate surrounds. Dress up those boring plates.

BTW bikes running sweet now, no hot connections.
I'm half way through the painting, have decided to go with a close(ish) match to the blue
for now until i can afford a proper full spray job.
