we have a huge golf tournament sunday. play 9 watch start of race, play other 9 then end of race. should be a good day. It is the only 4 wheel motorsport I watch in the year. it will be mint.

Wow, this poll is gonna be accurate. Margin of error is H U G E. My Jeep would still waste them all on the grass (and if it snows).

I can never manage to watch the whole thing in one hit so have it on through the stereo so I can hear it while fluffing around. That way the neighbors can enjoy it as well...

Ford,have a couple of bets on tab,Junior Johnson to win.And to not dissapoint Holden fans place bet on Seton and Baird.
If ford don't win I will be happy if Seton wins,albeit his old man drove for Ford,couldn't be a better winner IMHO than Seton.

See they have a limit on beer taken onto the course,one slab of full strength or 2 of half strength,but you can buy it there as well,looks good to see the big freezers hooked up to a generator to keep all the piss chilled.The year I was there 1998,it cost $3.00 a can.Made you laugh that come Sunday and about 9.30 guys were starting drinking,we drank a bit Saturday and through the night till 4.00am,got a few zzzz,and woke up to sound of last practice at 7.30.Come start time we were on the top of the mountain,you could see the ballons go and the start on the big screen,then as the cars came up mountain straight and got closer the tension in the air was amazing,then suddenly the cars fly past,and the noise is amazing,crowd and cheering fans.

you get a better view on the telly but it sounds waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better in real life

Bathurst use to be a great race – now it’s a glorified advertising campaign for cars that got left behind by technology

Sure better on TV for viewing,we arrived about 30 min after top 10 shootout,so had to wait till last practice to see the real cars,the difference between the v8 cars and the GT cup race was unreal,Jim Richards won the 3 hour race in a Porsche,his lap time was 1.5 sec slower than the second slowest v8 car on grid 29.
We went into town the Sat night as ya do,went to the Oxford pub which has garden bar and bands,the Friday night they had a band think it was called Jimmy Barnes and co,half of Cold Chisel,talk about piss off as we were in Sydney that night.

Went all over the top during the race,it is really strange watching in the dipper,hearing the tyres screech then the enevitable crash.

Pretty close too,thought Richards and/or Winterbottom might have taken Murphey's lap record.Then after Richards lap where he just lost a few milliseconds,Murph was being interviewed by Tracey from the rock,he laughed about sacking Richo if he did take the record,was in jest but Murphs' ego and face said different.My money is on Murph to crash about lap 130-145 and blame it on someone else as he does.Sad to see the crunch with team kiwi and the rat,both lucky to walk away so to speak.
