Full Version: My Buell the Lemon!!

Well Ladies..chivalry is not dead.
Today I went on Garry's `economy run'..and my 2008 Buell with less than 2000ks on the clock did 0.2km/tank of gas blush2.gif
After filling up and heading out of Ashhurst petrol station it decided to stop...I mean it just didn't want to go anymore. When the key was turned off, the instrument panel lit up, when the key was turned on, the high beam light came on Oh dear unsure.gif dry.gif ...I have definately bought a `lemon`. It had apparent `starting`problems in the shop which was supposedly fixed but a full loom replacement...then the speedo started to die, then came right, and today the whole thing died.

Thanks to Garry, who pushed me to Mr and Mrs Cowboyz then gave me a lift to a local Motorbike shop good.gif . Thanks to the young chappy who came out and took it back to the shop...and a big `NO THANKS' to the local Motorbike shop who then said they can't let me have a bike to ride meanwhile because I didn't buy my bike from them I pointed out that I did buy my last new bike and 90% of my gear from them though....tossers
I am absolutely gutted. Actually more like really really pissed off. I bought a new bike so that I would'nt have any troubles-being on my own I don't have a Mr Fix it to do those `bits n pieces`(don't particularly want one either rofl.gif ) so needed something reliable. Tui add!!

Now...I have a wee debt to collect. One lovely man from a Wellington bike shop who sold me said Buell offered his left testicle over this bike (he doesn't know me very well-foolish man)...Pete..I'm coming to get it!! butcher.gif

Sorry for ruining your day Garry.... girl_impossible.gif
Garry
Hey don't go thinking for one minute you ruined my day. I'm glad you turned up for the ride otherwise I probably wouldn't of bothered.

I wouldn't go calling the bike a lemon as its probably not so much the bikes fault as the person who fitted the replacement loom.

Lets hope the issues gets fixed quickly and thats the end of it so you can get out and enjoy your riding.
Monamie
Yea I am sure it is just a little problem but a tricky one at that. I think they said it took ages to find the actual problem last time dry.gif .
Pete will sort it soon enough....I just hope that this time it really is fixed because I have some long rides I would like to do and don't want to get stuck out the back of no where and it stops again not_i.gif
cowboyz
Mrs C let me know but I was away. Reall bugger and I feel for ya. Heres to hoping it gets sorted real soon!
Meanie
Thats a bugger, Hopefully nothing too major. I felt for Bandit rider when his new Concours wouldnt start and he waited for ages for parts, so its not just you it happens to. Its a great biking comunity we got when we can all rely on each other to help when we need it
Good on ya Gary for helping a damsal in distress
sarge
That sux big time, at least there will be a warranty involved but that's not really the point, this is why you bought new to try and avoid this kinda drama, keep us informed how you get on and if need be a couple of us will go down to welly with ya, once you removed said left nut we'll kick the remaining one in too.

Big up's to Gary, Mrs Cowboyz and Young Chappy. good.gif

Bugger! Yep, as Meanie said, I've been there and it sucked big time. Hope Wellington Motorcycles come to the party - they should. And they should offer you something else - I borrowed AFC's demo Connie when mine was down.

Hope it's sorted asap!

Well the Beast is back in town...delivered yesterday!! How is that for speedy work nyam.gif
I quite enjoyed the Lighting SS that I had to use-but IMO the Beast is alot more comfortable in riding position.

I made sure they started it before they left too blush2.gif not_i.gif The concensus was: an earth strap was not doing it's job and shorted out all the good bits......time will tell....watch this space dntknw.gif
