In fact the ever growing number of over 35 year olds getting back on a bike, 'born again' riders, having faint and distant memories of riding motorbikes as a teenager.
Harry Duynhoven, the minister of transport safety, recently said "far too many novice motorcyclists, particularly in the over 30 age group, are involved in crashes" and claimed that since 2001 there has been a 28% increase in licensed motorcycles.
"Over the same period of time there has been a staggering 80% increase in motorcycle casualties".

It's easy to be seduced by Bikes that are better and easier to ride, tire technology and suspension systems are far more user friendly now days. But don't let it lull you into a false sense of security, take a positive step to get re acquainted with the new environment and make a decision to develop your rider ability.
I understand the resistance to signing up to a course, or getting involved in training.
I took the approach that if I met, level headed motorcyclist, I could learn plenty from them.
I have enjoyed the safety factor of riding in a group, the fun of exploring routes and roads I never knew existed.
