The oil cooler looks vulnerable – is there a cheap guard that you can get for them, 2003 is fuel injected isn’t it.

have you ridden his rf yet?

Why - do you think I should, I thought you guys advised me not to buy one due to lack of parts especaily in the carb department
Any way I think the bandit is quicker - even if it hasn't got as much ground clearance, that would be the advantage of the RF I supose

RF's plenty reliable. The only real niggle they had was the Mikuni carbs wearing out the needle jet orifice quickly and causing rich running at cruise and at full throttle. But Mikuni parts aren't that hard to come by(not that you'll need them if you find a nice example). Heaps of power too for an older bike (135hp if i remember rightly). Can't really go wrong with them at the price they're going for. They can be a tad front heavy, but ya get used to  it.
